Temple Square

We have been eating outside for lunch.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous.  This is a nice patio  by the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  The bees really like it here also.

The tree lighting workers are busy getting ready for the Christmas lights.  We have been watching the workers do this since August.  The bottom big tree is completely covered with lights from the trunk to the tips of the branches.  One day I walked under this tree as a worker in a big cherry picker was putting lights up and a sign said "Beware of falling objects!"  This tree is covered with prickly pods.  This is the main walkway to get from the Tabernacle to the JSMB.

This is another place we eat our lunch which is right by the library.  The bees are not here.  I know Boyd is in the shade but he was too warm!  I was in the sun by my bag before taking this picture. I was trying to thaw out from B1.  Sometimes the library is so cold.

This is what we look at when we eat lunch by the library.  This vegetable garden has been quite productive with tomatoes, onions, peaches, watermelon, zucchini, etc.  The pumpkin vine on the far left was taking over the patio so they cut it way back.  It had a lot of tiny orange ornamental pumpkins.  I was so tempted to pick a few but I resisted.
Now I wonder who got them!!!
The 1 room cabin in the background is one of the 1st two cabins built in the valley.  It  isn't very big but I am sure they were grateful to have a roof over their heads.

Went to the Spoken Word this morning in the Tabernacle.  We like it much better in the Conference Center.  These benches are very hard and the sound is not as good.
But,we are grateful to be able to attend so often.

Park City, Utah

.

We went to Park City to visit our friends Kyle & Valerie Hawker who are staying there for 2 weeks.  The alpine slide is behind us.  What a quaint town to visit.  We had a very fun P Day.  The trees are just starting to turn the mountain side into a quilt of bright colors.  Wow!  Fall is a beautiful time of year.  Something we miss in Arizona.

Quite cozy in the back of the truck.          Good thing we didn't go very far!!!!             We are on our way to the Olympic Park.
We went to the tallest ski jump.  It is very high but we had a great view of the valley below!    The bottom part of the jump is lined with green strips of plastic because it is slippery and has a softer impact during summer training.
Above on the right  is the luge & skeleton track  and the bobsled track on the left.  They merge together for the rest of the way down.  The bobsled track is wider to allow the riders to push off.  The bobsled on the right was a little tight for the men.                                                                           Get Ready, Get Set, GO!  This one had padded seats for a much more comfortable picture!
