Brigham City Temple Open House

Saturday, August 25 we went with part of our social group to the open house of the Brigham City Temple.  We first went into a room which was part of the parking garage where we saw a movie and an introduction to the importance of the temple.

The Weekly Spoken Word

Most everyone went to the Spoken Word in the Conference Center.  For children under 8, they watch the Spoken Word in the Little Theatre.  Carter, Emma & Grandma went to the Little Theatre.

Carter & Emma enjoyed the seats and were happy that they did not need to be quiet or to sit still.

Carter & Emma loved the fountains outside.
What a fun time we had with the Rasmussen Family.
Come back again.

The Rasmussen's Came to Visit

Kirk, Jody, Katelyn, Kaleb, Carter & Emma came to visit us on August 2 and left August 5.
We all fit into our small condo and we enjoyed the visit very much.
The kids really enjoyed the elevator.

Jody, Katelyn & I (Dot) walked to the Dancing Fire & Water show at City Creek.
The rest stayed home to watch the Olympics.

Friday morning we started to go to the SL Zoo but there was a very long line so Jody & Kirk suggested going to This is the Place Historic Park which was across the street.
This was  a great choice!

Goats bring back memories for Dot growing up in Emmett, Idaho.

Boyd is still walking tall!
And strong enough to hold the fire hose!!!!

Waiting for big bucks!!
The Rasmussen's at the bank turning in their gold  nuggets.
All aboard!
For a fun filled day of learning about the past!

August 2

August 2 was Boyd's birthday.
If you look closely at the candles you can tell what birthday this was.
Jody & family came that morning to spend a few days with us.

We also celebrated Boyd's birthday again with our social group.
Elder Geddes, from Texas, is the same age as Boyd and his birthday is August 28.
I didn't have very many candles so this was all they got!

39th Anniversary

We celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary by doing sealings in the Logan Temple where we were married on July 26, 1973.

We went on Saturday, July 28th since that was our P Day.  After the temple we met The Rasmussen's at a Chinese Restaurant.  They were at Bear Lake visiting Kirk's parents so they all came down.

It was so good to see family.
After lunch we went to a park so the kids could play.  Then we went to the Creamery at Utah State University for a delicious ice cream cone.  Blue Aggie is soooo good.
We had a very fun day with our daughter and her family.
We are so thankful that we are a forever family because of our temple wedding 39 years ago.

24th of July

Myself and Sister Brenda Lovell from Washington watched the parade.  We had a great spot under a tree at the beginning of the parade.  We were both in 7th Heaven.  Our husbands were also very happy that they didn't have to go with us.  We only had 2 chairs!

The following are pictures of some my favorite entries:
The 1941 Plymouth has been parked in our parking garage at Zion Summit.
The cars remind me of my dad and the cars that he owned.
Building Sweet Dreams looked so yummy!
Several pictures are blurry but I loved the double decker bike.
Legos remind me of our children & grandchildren and their creativity.
I wish it wasn't blurry but I liked the theme
Building the Dream of Success.

Not sure how to maneuver these pictures around but I will keep experimenting another day!

July visitors

Kyle & Valerie Hawker were our first guests & visitors.  Boyd & Kyle met at Utah State University and have been friends ever since.  We had a fun time with the Hawkers.  They helped us with our Wi-Fi problem.  Thanks for the technical help.  We toured the Conference Center.  The middle picture is the roof of the conference center taken from our balcony.  The next picture is Zion Summit where we live and the picture is taken from the roof of the conference center.  We live on the 4th floor.   We enjoyed City Creek mall with all the water features.
